   This question depends heavily by what you deem Modernity to be. There are vast differences in the methodology of modern and ancient philosophers, however both types seek the same objective. Generally, all philosophers would agree that truth exists, and that it is a worthwhile endeavor to attempt to articulate the truth.

   You run into some problems when the philosophy of nihilism of the 19th and 20th century, emerges as a seemingly legitimate philosophy, rejecting that truth even exists. However, most serious philosophers both ancient and modern, dismiss nihilism, for its evident self contradictions.

   never really met a modern philosopher,
   but I do know this , their lingos were very different to our now a days lingo
   where as they used words as thou, art, and whenst did th’ sun goest i
   mayst….., besides they had more wisdom and knowledge unknownst
   to many .

   Modern philosophy has evolved using the ancients as building blocks. Still have a hard time exceeding Socrates

   All have or will die
   Living on this planet
   Trying to create more than they are capable of understanding
   Having noses and ears
   Being mocked most of the time
