Who are the best French philosophers between Descartes and Rousseau in your opinion?

1) Great, imho, means that the person made a deep and thorough argument which stood the test of time and consequently had a positive influence on the evolution of civilization.
2) Rousseau was Swiss, not French like Descartes. So your question is a bit illogical consequently. This is because Locke also influenced the French Revolution, and Voltaire was a proponent of Locke.
3) Based on 1 & 2 above, I”d say that Locke is the greatest philosopher between them.
4) Based on ”1” above, I”d say that there was no French philosopher who fits the description of ”great” per your question.
5) Strictly speaking, however, the prize goes to Pascal.
