A good clarification of the pitfalls of Moderate thought, but not an argument without holes for atheism.

  2. SandraGraceJohnson Says:

    @felisleo101
    Awesome!

  3. SandraGraceJohnson Says:

@Frejalise Spoken like a true moderate.

  4. Sloth7d Says:

@HugNow Sure from your perspective, but from the perspective of person who really believes in Hell and that what the heretic is saying could sway his mind into it, the worse of the two would have to be the heretic since his affect on the child will remain apparent even in death.

  5. RhunDraco Says:

@HugNow Molest a child and you physically and emotionally harm the child. However, at least that pain ends with their eventual death. Tempt a child away from the “one, true” religion taught by its parents and/or society, and you damn the child’s soul to an eternity in hell. Teaching a child to be in fear of a “real” hell, a place of real, never-ending suffering after death, is not only controlling, but extremely emotionally abusive.

  6. Frejalise Says:

@dirtyshiksa truer words have seldom been spoken

  7. HugNow Says:

I agree with everything in this video except the child molesting thing. I think child molesting is just as bad or worse than religious damage to the mind

  8. dirtyshiksa Says:

    religious people are retards

  9. kiz192 Says:

yeah right and who did both world wars involve? and for what reasons were they fighting? expansion and power not religion, they weren’t fighting in europe against each other to promote christianity and in vietman they wanted to stop communism not spread religion so atheism doesn’t cause us to live in peace and serenity in fact it causes quite the opposite

  10. zibanad Says:

the way he makes the eksampel is really easy and relaxing to understand and makes awhole lot of sens. What can you say, hes an athiest :)

  11. qaplatlhinganmaH Says:

Faith, n. Belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge, of things without parallel.

  12. archsceptic Says:

“In Islam we don’t have what is called “holy war” – You know & I know most muslims understand jihad as “holy war”.

You have a nerve to mention “christian soldiers who…” when in europe we have an army of 20million muslims occupying us. And no, the world does not belong to islam – islam is a man-made invented religion, just like all the thousands of others.

“atheism believes in nothing so they can’t fight under something’s name”. – Exactly, you said it.

  13. 3azzamy Says:

ahteism believes in nothing so they can’t fight under something’s name

In middle east the people who fight in the name of God are the christians soldiers who came from USA and Europ

In Islam we don’t have what is called “holy war” and we don’t fight under the name of God exept if we are fighting to protect our land and religion

  14. besmb2105 Says:

They did, but not in the name of atheism.

Too many people do it in the name of God.

Like in the middle east on a regular basis.

  15. archsceptic Says:

Believers kill in the name of believing and use it as a reason to kill. All generals tell their army’s god is on their side.

No atheist has ever killed in the name of atheism.

A devout person from Tehran and a devout person from Rome could more easily find reasons to murder each other than two atheists from those two places. Atheists from those two places would probably get along fine.

    Atheism unites, religion divides.

  16. vadimcream Says:

Did you just copy and paste this comment in every Sam Harris video you could find? Surely you must realize how shallow and one sided your narrow minded argument is…

  17. 3azzamy Says:

atheists killed more than 50 million people in the country they occupided

    specially in USSR and china

    so shut up Sam Harris

  18. rakshark Says:

i like what your saing exept one thing..like those moderet you criticize,
you are Generally speeking about religion too.
budhists dont spred religion by sord.
or for that matter jews never sent ships to conquer the world because of jewdism.actually jewdisen doughter religions are the onely dominent in Religious coercion tords out siders. history is filled with wars and empires all of wich were very religious but the superiority of their gods over others was just a bonus not the influence.

  19. simonbour Says:

ok, i’ve seen a lot of this videos and nobody seems to be talking about the worst kind of moderates (christians as far as i know), and those are people who will engadge with u in endless arguments and have never read the bible. they’ve been told some stuff and bought it

  24. TRICAMET Says:

Religious texts should be studied. In the way an adult’s childhood is studied by psychologists. To study where humanities dissorders have came from.
