@theunraveler Yes, it would be considered science in a sense that, when the bible makes the claim that’s going to happen, it’s making a hypothesis and it becomes a theory. And when it’s observed that Jesus actually comes down from the clouds like a superhero, the theory is proven correct.

  2. theunraveler Says:

You know Sam Harris is suppose to be a scientist but he seem to have forgotten about the cardinal rule about science is observation, hypothesizing, experimenting and formulating theories. If Jesus came out from the clouds like a superhero that still wont be considered as science. It would be very miraculous but not science

dingle1 I’m currently 2 3rds way through his book “the end of faith” . Harris makes some valid critisisms about religion (although not enough in my view). I find his apologist attitude towards Bush and his Neo Con cronies for want of a better phrase, full of shit! He argues the difference between Bush and Bin Laden is intent not body count. Oh polease, give me a fkn break, as if Bush or Clinton cared one shit about muslims in Sudan or Iraq or Afghanistan.

    Brilliant!

  5. 4everkeim Says:

Honestly, I could care more about a little bug than a 3 day old embryo.

  6. kevinscales Says:

    Sounds cool

  7. oran6es Says:

There’s a dinosaur in the dinosaur egg, is there not?

  8. qaplatlhinganmaH Says:

christianity is based on human sacrifice and ritualized cannibalism !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. oran6es Says:

Incorrect, Sammy. Soul or not, humans are not property.
Let’s talk about the details. A 150 cell embryo’s cells cure nothing. They are not killed, they are indeed kept alive, but separately, they are cultured and replicate and differentiate millions of times over. A 9 month old “stem cell line” is nothing more than a newborn baby’s body parts growing in separate dishes. For profit body parts are readied for sale for transfer into other humans.

    Human cannibalism. Rationalize that.

  10. AffirmedConclusion Says:

I question as to why folks on You-Tube don’t, or can’t, write intelligibly. This is a public forum so therefor capitalization & punctuation count.

  11. StephenM02 Says:

there is a good article that explores the potential antipathy against science that is inherent to religious thinking on the web site examiner. you can find it by searching “stephen Marotta ignorance religion”

He’s as cuddly as a baby weasel.

  13. ricardas83 Says:

I liked that point about flies :D . When christianity screams out “save the life”, it don’t bother itself eating meat :D . Nice.

  14. inkstersco Says:

    “Human”(adj) means ” of a human “, just as ” dinosaur egg ” means ” egg of a dinosaur “.

  15. oran6es Says:

It’s an adjective that means human, duh.

  16. xXAkridXx Says:

    Wrong

  17. 11mc22 Says:

“Actually, no, it’s just an adjective.”
    -
    that should’ve been a response to oran6es
    not me.

  18. inkstersco Says:

“”"Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less.”

Actually, no, it’s just an adjective.

  19. 11mc22 Says:

oh and by the way there are hundreds of thousands of these cells waiting to be thrown out.
you can either use them for stem cell or throw them out.
the IVF clinics can’t hold thousands and thousands of blastocysts because there is such little demand for them.
might as well use them for stem cell research.

you can advocate banning IVF later but for now we have so much of these cells that the best would be to use it for stem cell research.

  20. 11mc22 Says:

“”Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less.”
    -
    ya your right
lets not kill Siamese parasites neither because they are human. even though it burdens the twin

    and the question earlier
lets say the cooler didn’t go off into stem cell research
would you save the 6 year old child or the cooler?
which one would make you feel better?

  21. oran6es Says:

“Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less. TENS OF MILLIONS of patients. Now how many humans (embryos) would be created and destroyed to treat these people? This guy is VERY dangerous. Ha ha, holocaust is not funny. Skin cells scratched have no nuclei. His arguments are full of holes.

  22. 11mc22 Says:

“He’s going against embryos by DESTROYING them.”
    -
    for a good cause
i would not consider calling a 3 day embryo a human
all it is is a clump of cells that have human genes. no brain = no human

theres a type of Siamese twin where one of them could be born without a brain but still have other functional organs that leech off the other twin.
that part of the Siamese twin is not considered a human but a parasite or it is considered to be part of the other twins body.

    no brain = no human

  23. 11mc22 Says:

“Save the child. You guys would have chopped up and destroyed the embryos.”
    -
thank you for completely missing the point

  24. oran6es Says:

    Creationist=uneducated. Sam Harris=misguided

  25. oran6es Says:

  27. Roberts Liardon Says:

Regarding the safety aspect of IVF is concerned, most studies have indicated that this is a safe and children born as healthy as those born with natural conception. People who want to pursue in vitro fertilization, must be aware of two things, one is the whole process and the second is the total cost involved. In IVF, eggs are surgically removed from ovaries of women under the total assistance of ultrasound and then mixed with sperm outside the body in a laboratory.
