@theunraveler Yes, it would be considered science in a sense that, when the bible makes the claim that’s going to happen, it’s making a hypothesis and it becomes a theory. And when it’s observed that Jesus actually comes down from the clouds like a superhero, the theory is proven correct.

You know Sam Harris is suppose to be a scientist but he seem to have forgotten about the cardinal rule about science is observation, hypothesizing, experimenting and formulating theories. If Jesus came out from the clouds like a superhero that still wont be considered as science. It would be very miraculous but not science

dingle1 I’m currently 2 3rds way through his book “the end of faith” . Harris makes some valid critisisms about religion (although not enough in my view). I find his apologist attitude towards Bush and his Neo Con cronies for want of a better phrase, full of shit! He argues the difference between Bush and Bin Laden is intent not body count. Oh polease, give me a fkn break, as if Bush or Clinton cared one shit about muslims in Sudan or Iraq or Afghanistan.

Brilliant!
August 6th, 2010 at 4:53 am
Honestly, I could care more about a little bug than a 3 day old embryo.

Sounds cool
August 6th, 2010 at 6:00 am
There’s a dinosaur in the dinosaur egg, is there not?
August 6th, 2010 at 6:47 am
christianity is based on human sacrifice and ritualized cannibalism !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 6th, 2010 at 7:43 am
Incorrect, Sammy. Soul or not, humans are not property.
Let’s talk about the details. A 150 cell embryo’s cells cure nothing. They are not killed, they are indeed kept alive, but separately, they are cultured and replicate and differentiate millions of times over. A 9 month old “stem cell line” is nothing more than a newborn baby’s body parts growing in separate dishes. For profit body parts are readied for sale for transfer into other humans.
Human cannibalism. Rationalize that.

I question as to why folks on You-Tube don’t, or can’t, write intelligibly. This is a public forum so therefor capitalization & punctuation count.

there is a good article that explores the potential antipathy against science that is inherent to religious thinking on the web site examiner. you can find it by searching “stephen Marotta ignorance religion”

He’s as cuddly as a baby weasel.
August 6th, 2010 at 8:49 am
I liked that point about flies
. When christianity screams out “save the life”, it don’t bother itself eating meat
. Nice.

“Human”(adj) means ” of a human “, just as ” dinosaur egg ” means ” egg of a dinosaur “.
August 6th, 2010 at 10:00 am
It’s an adjective that means human, duh.
August 6th, 2010 at 10:16 am
Wrong
August 6th, 2010 at 10:32 am
“Actually, no, it’s just an adjective.”
-
that should’ve been a response to oran6es
not me.
August 6th, 2010 at 11:27 am
“”"Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less.”
Actually, no, it’s just an adjective.

oh and by the way there are hundreds of thousands of these cells waiting to be thrown out.
you can either use them for stem cell or throw them out.
the IVF clinics can’t hold thousands and thousands of blastocysts because there is such little demand for them.
might as well use them for stem cell research.
you can advocate banning IVF later but for now we have so much of these cells that the best would be to use it for stem cell research.

“”Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less.”
-
ya your right
lets not kill Siamese parasites neither because they are human. even though it burdens the twin
and the question earlier
lets say the cooler didn’t go off into stem cell research
would you save the 6 year old child or the cooler?
which one would make you feel better?
August 6th, 2010 at 1:30 pm
“Human” in “human embryo” means human, nothing less. TENS OF MILLIONS of patients. Now how many humans (embryos) would be created and destroyed to treat these people? This guy is VERY dangerous. Ha ha, holocaust is not funny. Skin cells scratched have no nuclei. His arguments are full of holes.
August 6th, 2010 at 2:27 pm
“He’s going against embryos by DESTROYING them.”
-
for a good cause
i would not consider calling a 3 day embryo a human
all it is is a clump of cells that have human genes. no brain = no human
theres a type of Siamese twin where one of them could be born without a brain but still have other functional organs that leech off the other twin.
that part of the Siamese twin is not considered a human but a parasite or it is considered to be part of the other twins body.
no brain = no human
August 6th, 2010 at 3:10 pm
“Save the child. You guys would have chopped up and destroyed the embryos.”
-
thank you for completely missing the point
August 6th, 2010 at 3:28 pm
Creationist=uneducated. Sam Harris=misguided
August 6th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
He’s going against embryos by DESTROYING them.
August 17th, 2010 at 2:26 am
I think there should be no conflict between the two, they even compliment with each other.
August 19th, 2010 at 9:28 am
This is endless conversation has nowhere to be put as rest. I’ts the same. Instead of bringing up holes, why just complement in each other.

According to my own monitoring, thousands of persons all over the world receive the credit loans at different banks. So, there’s a good chance to receive a bank loan in every country.
July 20th, 2011 at 8:49 am
The business loans seem to be important for people, which would like to organize their own business. By the way, this is very easy to receive a short term loan.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:19 am
Every body knows that our life is expensive, but different people need money for various things and not every man gets big sums cash. Hence to get some personal loans or short term loan should be a right way out.

Regarding the safety aspect of IVF is concerned, most studies have indicated that this is a safe and children born as healthy as those born with natural conception. People who want to pursue in vitro fertilization, must be aware of two things, one is the whole process and the second is the total cost involved. In IVF, eggs are surgically removed from ovaries of women under the total assistance of ultrasound and then mixed with sperm outside the body in a laboratory.
