Philosophy of Competition?
Friday, May 18th, 2012Question by hollywood: Philosophy of Competition?
I am doing a presentation on the philosophy of competition.
Ultimately my point is to prove that it is everywhere in our world:
- box office
- sports
-education
-politics
it’s basically EVERYWHERE!
anyways,
I am attempting to find philosophers who spoke of philosophy, seeing as I am speaking of the philosophy of competition.
ALL HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED
ps: more modern day examples would also be great
thankyou!

Try Karl Marx, John Maynard Keynes, and my current personal favorite: Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner who wrote the book Freakonomics- this book would be an extremely valuable resource for your topic.
I am inclined to think that we are living in a hypercompetetive world, and while Karl Marx and John Maynard Keynes are extreme examples, they are extremes at either end. I think Freakonomics has a very balanced approach to this topic.
