With a philosophy/religion BA degree can I transfer into a philosophy masters program?

Question by Nathan: With a philosophy/religion BA degree can I transfer into a philosophy masters program?
The school I’m trying to get into next year has a combined philosophy and religion department and doesn’t offer a large variety of strictly philosophy classes. Long term, I intend on obtaining a masters and phd in just philosophy. So my question is this: with a phil/rel BA degree, will schools accept me into their masters and eventual phd programs for philosophy?

There should be no problem. Just be aware there are like 50 PhD holders in philosophy for every tenure track position that opens up. And that there is no other work for a PhD in philosophy that actually requires the degree.

VirtualLight #2 Sandra Interviews Stephen Lewis – AIM Program- April 2009

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Stephen Lewis’ interest in subtle energy began when he was exposed to the work of Wilhelm Reich, as well as to Oriental philosophy and religion. Since then, he has pursued that direction, with several “pit stops” to obtain a number of degrees in the healing arts, as well as expertise in digital technologies. It was during his studies in the healing arts that he became aware of the energetic testing work being done in Germany. He returned to civilization with the understanding that technology and consciousness were inextricably bound. Thus was born his revolutionary work in Quantum Consciousness, the measurement of “units of consciousness.” Both his work and his writing explore the application of this concept to all of life.
