Al Andalus or the Andalucians were the zenith of human sophistication and was Truly a real multicultural land before the Conquistadors displaced this great European Islamic Civilization. Is it fair that the modern world have denied the contrinbutions of a rich progressive Islamic Civilisation so that they can be denied a place in history. The world belongs to ALL and for so long The Muslims have been denied their rightful place as a great nation, a great civilisation and even America the greatest and most powerful nation also owes a gratitude to Islam too.

America was discovered by Muslim sailors many settled and many returned. Earliest maps were Arabic and based on those maps, Islamic instruments for navigation and Islamic inspired ships the age of European Exploration began. This is a deep topic that needs discussing even at the height of European Slave Trade – rich educated and highly skilled Muslim slaves of North, West and South Africa were taken to America. Their named changed and their children separated from the parents and their history is still missing today.

Is this a joke? LOL! Most of those places you mentioned are AMERICAN INDIAN names. What you have here is a prime example of “taqiyya” (lying in order to promote Islam).

1)You pineal gland is what allow you to dream.

Besides modern day gay people, such as celebrities/actors, are there any famous gay scientists, philosophers, army generals, kings/queens, etc. throughout history? I’m just curious, because I rarely/never hear about them, if they existed.

I’m thinking that there were some, but they were probably likely to be killed/arrested if they were open about it, so they kept it quiet.

I can name 100′s of male philosophers, astrologists, mathematicians and scientists who discovered/invented things. Modern day scientists, astrologists, philosophers and the like are just being taught/told things.

Question by Am I Cool Yet?: Am I a Modern Day Philosopher? If so, are there more?
My deep thought is so overwhelming I don’t even know what to do anymore. I.e. I spend almost 3 hours just thinking about my existence, thinking about our society and co-existing individual lives. Its like I can take a ‘Birds Eye View’ over Humanity at anytime. Like I can, AT ANYTIME, just…Remote View anywhere. I dont have it mastered, but I can do it pretty good. I’ve also felt strong connections with an entity I believe. An entity of a higher plain. Now I know that most of you are like “Wow, NOW I know this dude is crazy.” But please understand that us humans, are more sensitive to the ‘unknown’ then you actually know. And everyday, my third eye is getting stronger, I can tell because I often see orbs, and shadow people, and I believe, astral forms just passing by. Im only a 18 year old looking for a higher purpose. And often my mind is physically feels like its pumping something, like its pulsating, and this energy is like WAY OVER WHELMING, and its like my mind is being hand messaged by God or something lol Like seriously, and it only happens when I channel my thoughts into the ‘Deep Abyss’ lol thats what I call it. Because that’s where I find most of my answers I look for. I used to use drugs, like Weed, and that fake weed, that REALLY STRONG fake weed, and I strongly believe that really enhanced my psychic abilities.
Yea, Im often viewed upon as ‘weird’ by people who do not understand. : /

The philosophy courses at my university are all based on learning past philosophy, I want to pursue philosophy as a career, but not teaching others what dead people said. Is there a place for modern day philosophers?
The answer from milhea is pointless because I’ve already done thought and I’ve found that I’d rather do something I enjoy everyday instead of getting stuck in some stinking hole of an office where my every day purpose is to ensue I am as difficult and obnoxious as possible because I hate my job, as she probably does. you dont need a college degree to be a philosopher.

Taking philosophy at college, all you learn is the history of philosophy

College degrees in philosophy are only good for teaching philosophy.

I recommend just taking logic and critical thinking courses.

Question by Jon: Is there any place for philosophy in modern physics?
I ask because I recently posted a question asking if chaos and quantum theories shed any light on the philosophical issue of freedom versus determinism. I had only one, rather patronizing, answer, which informed me that: a) quantum and chaos theories are theories (thanks for that) b) I should go to a physics department where people actually DO things and c) Philosophy is of no value because philosophers do not ‘do’ anything.

Would any physicists like to provide an alternative view, or indeed a better answer?
