I have a philosophy paper due this week as my final. I kind of know what my opinion is but I wanted to know what the people thought. I kind of would like to have a mixture of opinions. Please and thank you!

Both religion and philosophy have ideas, is the only difference that philosophy doesn’t have a god? In my perspective religion is much more profound…but are there people that cling to both?

a religion, is usually more confining in its ideas, requiring its followers to believe everything the religion says to believe, not to question the faith.
i think the main point of a philosophy is to question everything to come up with the end result.

Where can I debate religion and philosophy?

Question by : Where can I debate religion and philosophy?
R&S isn’t really ideal as it’s very one-sided. I’d like to know where there are some good, popular, reputable debate forums for religion and philosophy. Please don’t tell me just to “google it”, I want some actual advice about where the best place to go is.
Melkha – Could you be more specific?

Hindu philosophy, religion & spirituality believes in the process of reincarnation i.e. we can attain Moksha?

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Question by shankd67: Hindu philosophy, religion & spirituality believes in the process of reincarnation i.e. we can attain Moksha?
through good deeds and total belief in God and thus freedom from the cycle of births & deaths. For example if someone is facing problems in this life it is due to bad deeds (Karma) he/she has performed in his/her previous life..it has been said. Is this concept of a previous life and after life ( that the soul never dies) practically possible or is it just a theoretical belief as has been said in different religions ? What does science have to say and others ?? I have not gone into the details but I hope u all can understand what I have asked !?

Science tends to not discuss reincarnation or the afterlife (if any) – there may be ways to find out about it, but we don’t have them yet, and to speculate wouldn’t be of much use.
